Phase Two: Implementing The Model City Initiative/
UAFAH’s Human Culture and Civic Programs
The Model City Initiative:
Enables people in a City and the City government to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy by acting on his “I Have a Dream” speech. Participants pledge to take deliberate actions to promote liberty, equality, democracy, racial unity, and happiness within the community.
Goal
Enhance and promote programs and services in the City of College Park that educate and reinforce Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” call to action. We aim to demonstrate and encourage community members to live the American Creed, transcend racial judgments, and empower individuals. By connecting open-minded individuals, we empower females, enlighten males, and foster racial unity, ultimately promoting and positioning College Park as a model city for Dr. King’s vision as embodied in his “I Have a Dream” speech.

Pedicab Service
The Pedicab Service, with guided tours and transportation services, tells the story of what the city is seeking to achieve to become the model city to realize the ideals expressed in Dr. King’s “I have a Dream” speech. Our start up plan is to transport passengers to our downtown, at designated locations, across the new Pedestrian Bridge – Global Gateway Connector, and pickup and drop-off people who attend events at GICC and Gateway Center Arena. During 2025-2026, the Limousine Pedicab will be available for passenger transportation in Ward One.
We have acquired the pedicab from a leading pedicab manufacturer. During the initial period, our service will be powered by Joyride Pedicabs, Inc., our collaboration partner, who has 15 years of experience operating pedicabs, a solid reputation, and excellent experience. Their main client is Truist Park Management, and their main sponsor is Coors. As we progress, we expect to recruit and train local people to be the Ambassador and Pedicab operators.
Ambassador Pedicab Drivers and Street Ambassadors
Pedicab Drivers pass a certification on pedicab operations, safety, and city streets. Joyride Pedicabs, Inc. plays a key role. Pedicab Drivers are cross-trained as Ambassadors and use this knowledge while driving passengers. We also train and deploy Street Ambassadors who “are on the street” at events, venues, and downtown.
Civic Programs
A critical part of UAFAH is engaging with city residents to promote civic responsibility, encourage participation and provide voter education.
Human Culture Beloved Community Conversations, Meetings, and Forums
Discussion workshops are intentional about having participants interacting with, and listening to, each other. The objective is for people to listen to each other and to increase awareness, and self-evaluation (self-introspection). This will lead to personal growth and developing a College Park Human Culture Community (The Beloved Community – The Model City}.
Educational sessions educate the community about the philosophy and objectives of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s philosophy and vision.
Forums and Public Discussions facilitate discussions with city officials and residents, allowing them to share ideas and offer feedback.

- Love of Humanity – One Race The Human Race

Human Culture Beloved Community Events and Collaborations
UAFAH plays a role of leadership, collaboration, and contribution. Sometimes we design, lead, and organize; sometimes we collaborate with others; and sometimes we contribute time and ideas to help others succeed with their events.
We expect to be involved with many organizations, such as local businesses, student organizations, College Park Citizens Association (CPCA), Empowerment Zone, Ignite, Favor House, Christmas Parade, Women Day, Juneteenth, City Wide Festival, Senior Celebrations, and Unity Day. This can include clean-up drives, marches, and cultural activities and events.
UAFAH Human Culture Community Model Citizens and Naming Ceremonies
We expect to select and encourage individuals in our community to embrace, promote and support the Model City Initiative and recognize and celebrate them for being leaders in the initiative. These UAFAH Human Culture Community Naming & Title Ceremonies aim to inspire all in the Community.
Each ceremony celebrates the introduction of the Science of Humaculture to new people and provides a platform to encourage people to continue growing to realize the dream of Dr. MLK.
These ceremonies help us (1) establish and grow a Human Culture Community, (2) introduce and celebrate unique cultural changes and identities, (3) and strengthen community bonds by bringing people together to celebrate.
