Why This Meeting Matters
Skill Development The skit activity is critical practical training. Ambassadors can understand Love and Reverence intellectually, but they need practice communicating it naturally in everyday situations. Role-playing builds confidence and competence.
Funding Awareness Ambassadors need to understand how the initiative is funded and sustained. Discussing the Mayor’s Participatory Budget helps them see how community support translates to resources.
Expansion Planning As Ward I solidifies, planning for Wards II, III, and IV begins. Ambassadors are part of a growing movement, not an isolated program.
Commitment Clarification After months of participation, Ambassadors clarify their level of commitment – time, activities, focus areas. This helps align individual capacity with organizational needs.
Expected Outcomes
- Ambassadors gain practical skills for everyday conversations about Model City Initiative
- Team understands funding mechanisms and participatory budgeting opportunity
- Strategic framework for community-wide engagement begins taking shape
- Individual commitment levels clarified for better task alignment
- Momentum builds toward ward-by-ward expansion
Connection to Mission
This meeting demonstrates the Model City Initiative’s progression from introduction to education to implementation to expansion. Ward I Ambassadors are now preparing to scale their work throughout the ward while UAFAH plans expansion to remaining wards. The Beloved Community is built through exactly this kind of sustained, strategic, skill-building work.
